SPARKS IS FOLLOWING ME AROUND

I feel like this band is following me around. I think lots people get that feeling sometimes, when you here a certain group or song once, then it keeps popping up in unexpected places. This first started when I read a little blurb about them in a rock n roll encyclopedia. They got their start in the early 70's and have been the creative vehicle for two brothers from LA until the present day. Their early sound is pretty glam-y but the are far from a one trick pony as they have explored many sounds throughout their career. They notably teamed up with acclaimed disco producer and synthesizer expert Giorgio Moroder for a couple of albums that explores the place where rock and roll meets synths and sequencers.

The next place I ran into Sparks was a mixtape. Specifically the "Rejected Fabric" mix by Justice. This was a mixtape Justice submitted for inclusion in the series of mixes put out by the club "Fabric" in London. The mix was rejected though, and Justice released it on the internet instead.

Then my friend Jim sent me one of their songs and now they are on the cover of Arthur magazine and planning on playing a series of gigs in London where they will play every album they have made in their career that spans more than thirty years.

Anyway, its not a bad band to have follow you around and you should check them out if you don't already know them.
